Dakshika Perera is a Partner and Legal Counsel at Velox, having been at the firm since day one. Dakshika has over 5 years of experience in the legal field and is an Attorney at Law to the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka, Company Secretary, Notary Public, and Commissioner for Oaths. Dakshika is a double degree holder with an LLB from the University of London, and a BA in Sociology from the University of Colombo. Dakshika has an LLM from the University of West London and is currently reading for her MBA at the Victoria University and Practical Legal Training from the College of Law Victoria. In addition, Dakshika also has a Diploma in International Relations from BCIS and Diploma in French from Alliance Francaise de Colombo.
Before joining Velox, Dakshika was a Junior Legal officer at LPO Connect and a Research Officer for the Chief Justice of Sri Lanka where she was responsible for performing a wide range of legal research about various disciplines of law (i.e criminal, tort, fundamental rights, constitutional, property, commercial, etc.) required for writing judgments, attending Supreme Court proceedings, reading case briefs and summarizing facts and legal submissions.
At Velox, Dakshika advises clients related to a wide range of legal matters including legal due diligence, drafting of corporate and commercial agreements, mergers and acquisitions, sale and purchase of businesses and assets, setting up of local and overseas entities, labour law matters, conveyancing, and general corporate advisory matters.
Known for being the empathetic boss with the loudest laughter, Dakshika decided to pursue law as she believes in making a difference by inspiring and helping others in a way only a lawyer can do and she leads and guides her team with the same belief.
